ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In spite of, or perhaps because of, her rough childhood, Sydney Masters grew up devoted to giving back to those less fortunate. As a previous volunteer for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as a Guardian ad Litem since 1992, Sydney’s love for children is expressed as an advocacy for those in need. Also dear to Sydney's heart is 'Give Kids The World' in Kissimmee, Florida where she spent one unforgettable week working with the children there. She continues to support this wonderful organization.

Sydney’s earned her incredible tenacity to work through life’s struggles by confronting life’s toughest moments and traumatic events. Frequently relocating, Sydney moved over 31 times; all before turning 18. This constant change of surroundings, though difficult and often resented, proved to be a blessing in disguise. With a true appreciation for people of all backgrounds, Sydney’s passion for all people is evident in the humanitarian work she accomplishes these days.

By publishing this honest account of a child struggling to understand life well beyond her years, Sydney now hopes to reach out to the fragile and unsure youth of today – to be an inspiration. After surmounting countless setbacks, disadvantages and flat-out brutality, Sydney is committed to using her experiences, both good and bad, to reach out to those currently in need.
